My Valentines!

I completely forgot all about valentines day this year until late Wednesday night when my parents reminded me. I did not feel like going to the store so I decided I would just keep my kids home from school. They are young enough, they won't know. My parents though luckily had some chocolate hearts and red construction paper so we decided to just make our own and let the kids go to school. I think it turned out way cuter than buying valentines. Wolfe and Teddy wrote their names on the cards (Teddy needed a little help towards the end but Wolfe loved doing it). Anyways, I am SURE that my family in Vegas is DYING to see my kids write their names so I decided to take a picture and post it.
You can tell on Teddy's which ones he did by himself and which ones I helped with. Since Wolfe has two classes (his regular Kindergarten and his extended resource room) he came home with his backpack stuffed full of candy. Teddy was a bit jealous because there is only about 10 kids in his class and two of his Valentines were wasted with pencils.

Well, every year I always hope that Morgan will impress me with Valentines Day. He has failed miserably for the past 9 years and last year was the first time I didn't expect anything and this year I didn't even remember. He usually get me hand sanitizer (trial size and not name brand, of course. This is the usual gift for birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, etc.) but this year he did something a little bit different...

If you are wondering what you are looking at, it is my table with no gift on it. I can't say that I blame him because I do still have 3 or 4 unopened hand sanitizers. I have to admit that I really don't care. I would probably be a little annoyed if he did buy me something and since I got him the same gift that he got me, I can't complain. He did however get up with the kids for me and get them off to school while only waking me up a few time to ask where to find clothes and to see what Wini is doing ("Hurry, hurry, look, you're going to miss it! It is sooooo cute!" I have seen it all, already, Morgan). Anyways, even though I am no longer his Valentines (Wini is now) it was a nice day. I love you Morgan and this does not excuse you for our anniversary (NO HAND SANITIZER PLEASE). Hope everyone had a Happy Valentines Days!

I love how you always mix it up with your template. Keeps it interesting. I got the same thing for valentines day, but Tom tells me in advance that he isn't going to get me anything because it is a holiday made up by corporations to get people to buy gross chocolate and teddy bears with heart shaped tatoos, oh and plastic roses with hot glue dew beads. Nice "out" Tom.

Did you hand make those Valentines. Impressive if so.

Wade sent me flowers this year for the first time ever! He sent them to my work and I didn't end up going to my office yesterday. Poor guy was really trying and it just didn't work as planned.

My kids came home with bags of candy also. Jack sat at the table and ate every last bit of it. Then he ran up stairs and said he was going to brush his teeth before he headed of to his buddy Augie's house. He cracks me up.

I am glad you had a wonderful Valentines day despite getting a new bottle of hand sanitizer.

Valentines day is my favorite holiday. I LOVE IT!! (Just kidding... I agree with Tom, I think the chocolate companies invented it. Maybe conspired with Weight Watchers or something)

I didn't have Valentines ready either and we had to do a last minute rush to make our own. Yours turned out much better. At least you had candy on them. That's all the kids care about anyhow.

We got lucky this year...first I was sick and refused to go to the store to buy the Valentines, then Meg caught it and was too sick to go to school anyway. I offered to buy some (now half price, of course) to take next week, but she said that was dumb. Yeah!

Sam did stop on the way home from his last day at work and bought me roses at Costco. With his very own spending money, instead of the grocery money he usually uses. :0)

For those of you who are wondering why Sara keeps getting hand sanitizer... So there I was stressing out in target on Christmas eve. I had Sara's gifts but not too many stocking stuffers. I grabbed a toothbrush, chapstick, various make-up items and then a travel sized bottle of hand sanitizer. On Christmas morning she made such a big deal over the fact that I would think she wanted hand sanitizer that I have been getting it for every special occaision ever since. It's sort of an inside joke, but the kind that isn't funny and wasn't meant to be. You know what I mean.

That's weird. Why would Morgan get me sanitizer and not you?

Those Valentines were way cute and I am very impressed with the boys handwriting! I bought my own Valentines Day present this year and it rocked.
